Tomorrow, Thursday, March 21st is World Down Syndrome Day! Celebrate and spread awareness by wearing bright and mismatched socks. March 21st is symbolic because people with Down Syndrome have 3 copies of their 21st chromosome. Socks were chosen because the karyotype of Ds chromosomes actually looks like mismatched socks. The colors for Down Syndrome awareness are blue and yellow, by wearing these colors it will also help bring awareness to the cause!

Stafford 3rd-6th Grade Parents, Your 3rd-6th students have recently taken a STAAR Benchmark practice test to prepare for the official STAAR test given in April 2024. We are sending home letters to each of your students to give an update on their progress and current status. We are excited about the growth of our students and continued learning opportunities for students to show off how much they have accomplished this year. After you receive the letter and talk about it with your student, please sign and have your student return it to their 1st period teacher. We appreciate your support. Please reach out to teachers and/or the front office if you have any questions. Tuesday, April 16th - STAAR 3rd-6th Grades Reading and Language Arts Tuesday, April 23rd - STAAR 5th Grade Science Tuesday, April 30th - STAAR 3rd-6th Grades Math Our campus will be closed to visitors due to STAAR Testing on the dates above.  Please plan accordingly and send your student(s) with what they need, backpacks, lunches, water bottles, etc., there will not be any deliveries to students.  This notice applies to all students even if your child is in a non-testing grade.  Thank you for helping our students have the best environment during testing.

**Reminder** Italy ISD Cheerleaders 2024-2025 JHS/HS cheer tryouts are coming up! There will be a mandatory parent meeting on Wednesday, February 28th. The tryout application has been placed into your google classroom. If you are interested in becoming a cheerleader, please fill out that form.
