Stafford Elementary will begin accepting 1st through 6th grade Parent Nominations for the Gifted and Talented Program beginning today. The nomination form describes some characteristics of possible gifted students as you consider your nomination. You may also reach out to the GT Coordinator for Stafford Elementary, Elizabeth Jones ( ejones@italyisd.org ). Field Day is a day set aside for Stafford students to participate in fun outdoor events. Students will ride the bus to/from Stafford. Thursday, May 15th at the High School Football/Track field. **With the temps continuing to increase it is very important that all field day participants are hydrated throughout the day! Water donations would be greatly appreciated! Please drop off with the front office or to Coach Fossett.** PreK-2nd grades estimated times 8:30am-11:30am. They will eat lunch at Stafford when they return. 3rd-6th grades estimated times 12:15pm-3:15pm – they will eat lunch at Stafford at 11am. What do students wear or bring? Shorts, tennis shoes, hats, water, sunscreen. Show school spirit by wearing your PTO field day t-shirt or any Stafford/Italy t-shirt. Shirt Colors: PreK and PreK Headstart - Red Kinder – Teal; 1st – Purple; 2nd – Pink; 3rd - Kelly Green; 4th – Daisy; 5th - Sky Blue; 6th - Black with Blue and White Design. If you ordered T-shirt they will be delivered to classrooms on the 12th Can parents come too? Of course! If you plan on taking your student when you leave, you must sign them out with their teacher. All visitors must stop by Stafford Elementary with their driver’s license and receive a printed badge before entering the field. Concessions for sale by PTO they will accept Cash and CashApp. We would LOVE to have some volunteers for the concession stands! 2025 Italy ISD High School Athletic Awards Banquet May 20, 2025 5:30 PM Dinner 6:00 PM Awards Program Italy High School Cafetorium Italy ISD will be honoring our high school student-athletes at the 2025 Italy High School Athletic Awards Banquet. Those wishing to eat dinner can purchase tickets at the reception desk at the high school for $20 each (checks should be made out to Gladiator Athletic Booster Club) OR purchase with the QR code below and your tickets will be waiting in an envelope when you arrive. Purchase no later than May 15, 2025. High school student-athletes will eat free. Any other students, up to and including 8th grade, that attend and wish to eat will need to purchase a ticket. There will be a limited number of tickets available for purchase at the door, so please buy them ahead. You do not have to have a ticket to attend the awards, but you must have a ticket to eat dinner at the event. Dinner will begin serving at 5:30 PM with the Awards Program beginning at approximately 6:00 PM. We look forward to a special evening honoring our student-athletes and the excellent job they did this year.

Stafford's Third Annual Career Day is just around the corner, and we would love your help. The event is scheduled for Tuesday, May 20th from 12pm - 3:30pm. We would love to open the world of potential future careers to our students. Can you help? We are looking for all types of jobs, services, and professions. We would love for presenters to come dressed in their "job attire", and even bring some hands-on experiences for our kids if possible. We'd love mechanics, bakers, businessmen, farmers, first responders etc. The sky is the limit! We want our Stafford students to understand that there is no holding them back when it comes to their future opportunities. There are all kinds of professions from which to choose. At Italy ISD, safety is always top priority for our students, staff and community. As an added protection, Italy ISD has partnered with Perry Weather to begin using a lightning and temperature monitoring system located at the Italy ISD football stadium. It will also monitor our baseball and softball fields. The system will automatically notify Italy ISD, Italy High School administration and Stafford Elementary administration of impending weather risks within 10 miles of our community. For a lightning strike detected within 10 miles of the stadium, the district and surrounding community will hear a siren, followed by a verbal message to move inside of a building. During outdoor Italy ISD events, practices and competitions, the system will automatically begin a 30 minute countdown. If no other lightning is detected within 10 miles in those 30 minutes, we will hear a message that the event may now continue. For community members it means lightning is not detected within 10 miles of Italy. For Italy ISD events occurring in excessive high temperatures, a siren will sound followed by a message for athletes to leave the competition field. The system will only be active during certain times of each day, and only when students, staff or community members are present for a regular school day or a school event. This system is not an outdoor warning siren for a tornadic event. Italy ISD wants you to be aware of the new alarms and what they mean as we continue to find ways to keep each other safe.
