ABOUT ITALY ISD

The Italy Independent School District (AA) is located south of Waxahachie and north of Hillsboro in scenic Ellis County. More than 650 students attend either Stafford Elementary (PK-6) or Italy High School (7-12). The 66 square mile district is growing in student population.

A fiscally sound district, Italy ISD offers a wealth of academic and extracurricular opportunities for students. Elementary students participate in art, music, and computers on a regular basis. Middle school students are offered art, music, band, and technology applications. Italy High School currently offers Career & Technical Education endorsement programs with electives in Government and Public Administration (Civil Air Patrol Participation), Animal Science, Applied Agricultural Engineering, Design & Multimedia Arts, and Food Science & Technology. Academically eligible students may choose to take classes through Italy High School dual credit program.

Extracurricular activities include athletics, marching band, academic UIL, one-act play, and FFA, to name a few. The Italy Gladiators have a rich athletic history whose alumni include former Dallas Cowboy’s defensive player Keith Davis and Kortnei Johnson. The Gladiators play football, volleyball, cross country, basketball, power lifting, baseball, softball, track and field events, and cheer. Italy’s new athletic facilities are among the best in our 2A conference district.

Italy ISD is a smaller district that offers great opportunities for students, without losing the hometown environment. We may be small, but we have a spirit truly worthy of being called Gladiators!!
