Stafford Library Policy
Student Library Policy
Students are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful manner while visiting the library. They are expected to show respect to other students and staff as well as showing respect for the media contained in the library. Students who are not following these guidelines will be asked to leave the library.
Student checkouts are limited to two items at one time with only one magazine at a time. Checkouts are for five school days for books or magazines and overnight for reference materials. Any item may be renewed unless there is a hold on it. Holds must be checked out within 24 hours.
A fine of 10 cents per school day per book or magazine will be charged for overdue media, except novel class sets. Students must have clear library accounts in order to check out media. An overdue/fine report will be sent to teachers at least each six weeks.
Lost or Damaged Media:
Students will replace lost or damaged media at the cost of the item.
The library has three computers that may be used for searching the online card catalog and for research.
Library Web Page:
The Stafford Elementary School Library maintains a web page that functions as a “Virtual Online Library” and can be found at http://staffordlibrary.weebly.com . Students are encouraged to go to the site for free resources including the online card catalog, encyclopedias, databases, reference sources, multimedia resources, reading programs, and Accelerated Reader quiz availability.
